Assorted Practical Motor Testing Trainer with Multimedia Software

The Electrical Lab includes an orientation programme that covers training in D.C. Motors/Generator–shunt, series, and compound, AC Machines
and Alternators. The trainer enables us to differentiate between all these electrical machines, assemble them, and thereafter study the characteristics using the provided measuring instrumentation.

The equipment is supported by Multimedia Software in Hindi and English covering shunt, series and compound wound motors, induction motors, synchronous motors and generators.

The learning content provided also includes railway specific material on Traction Motors, Traction Motor Control, tap changers and thyristor control, Buck and Boost Starting, Operation of Loco Multiple Control Unit, Braking, Train Lighting, Electrical Controls of Diesel Locos and maintenance of Electric Loco and EMU batteries. 

In addition to the learning content commonly used Electrical Instruments including Megger, Hydrometer, Multimeter, Power Factor Meter, Anemometer, Screw Gauge, Tong Tester, Energy Meter, Earth Resistance Tester, Wheatstone Bridge, Tachometer etc. have been provided
in the Lab.
